About FREEG
Freestyle Gymnastics combines elements of gymnastics, parkour and creative movement, giving participants the freedom to move, challenge themselves and develop exciting new skills. Athletes learn to run, jump, vault, flip and overcome obstacles while developing strength, agility, coordination and spatial awareness.
SCGA's Freestyle pathway caters for beginners through to advanced athletes, with opportunities to progress skills, participate in special events and compete at selected FreeG events.
Who is FREEG for?
FreeG is perfect for kids and teens who enjoy high-energy activities, exploring their creativity and pushing their personal limits. It’s especially suited to those who prefer a less traditional training environment where individuality, self-expression and personal achievement are encouraged.

Mini Ninjas
Mini Ninjas introduces younger children to freestyle movement through age-appropriate obstacles, challenges and gymnastics activities. Participants develop agility, balance, coordination and confidence while learning how to safely run, jump, climb, swing and move through their environment.

7 years to 15 years
Intermediate FREEG
Intermediate FreeG takes freestyle movement to the next level, introducing more challenging parkour and gymnastics skills in a safe and structured environment. Athletes develop their technique, strength and creativity while learning combinations, vaults, flips and obstacle-based movements at their own pace.

Advanced FREEG
Advanced FreeG is designed for experienced athletes ready to take on higher-level freestyle skills and combinations. Training focuses on advanced technique, power, control and creativity, with opportunities for athletes to challenge themselves through competitions and events.
What will they LEARN?


Weekly Timetable
Freestyle Gymnastics operates as a year-round program, including through school holiday periods. Athletes attend their regular weekly training sessions throughout the calendar year, with classes pausing only for nominated public holidays and SCGA closure periods.
Active enrolment continues throughout the year, and fees are calculated monthly according to the scheduled training sessions available that month. Families wishing to discontinue an enrolment are required to provide 4 weeks' notice in accordance with SCGA's enrolment and fees policies.

Active enrolments continue throughout the year unless notice is provided in accordance with SCGA's enrolment policy. Class fees are calculated based on scheduled training and charged monthly. Annual registration is charged separately and includes applicable athlete registration and insurance.

WHAT TO WEAR/BRING
FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS
Wear comfortable, fitted activewear that allows you to move freely. Leotards are welcome but aren't required for FREEG classes; however, if your child is planning on attending competitions and events, uniforms are required. FreeG t-Shirts are available to purchase for training and events. Avoid clothing with zips, buckles or anything that may catch on equipment.
Gymnastics classes are generally completed barefoot. Shoes should be worn when arriving and leaving the gym for safety.
Bring a labelled water bottle and any personal items required for your class. Longer training sessions may also require a snack or meal.
Long hair should be securely tied back and jewellery removed before entering the gym for everyone's safety
Does my child need gymnastics experience? Not at all! Many of our programs cater for complete beginners, and our coaches will help each gymnast progress at a level appropriate to their ability. Can we try a class before joining? Yes! A trial is a great way to experience SCGA, meet our coaches and make sure you've found the right program. How do I know which class is right for my child? Our team can help. Tell us your child's age, previous experience and interests, and we'll recommend the most suitable program and level. Can my child change classes as they progress? Yes. Our coaches continually monitor each gymnast's development and can recommend progression into another class or program when they're ready. Can parents watch classes? Parent participation and viewing arrangements vary depending on the program and age group. Our team can let you know what applies to your child's class. Do classes run during school holidays? Our recreational, specialty and competitive programs operate throughout most of the year. Check your program's Weekly Timetable section for details. What happens if we miss a class? Missed-class and make-up arrangements are subject to SCGA's current enrolment and attendance policies. Contact our team if you're unsure what applies to your enrolment. How are fees charged? Fees are based on your child's program and training schedule and are billed monthly according to SCGA's current fee and billing structure.
