About GFA
Gymnastics for All is an inclusive recreational gymnastics program designed to give everyone the opportunity to enjoy gymnastics, regardless of experience or ability. Gymnasts develop strength, flexibility, coordination, balance and confidence while progressing through skills across a variety of apparatus.
Who is GFA for?
SCGA's GFA pathway grows with the gymnast, from children beginning gymnastics in their primary-school years through to teenagers and adults. Participants can enjoy gymnastics recreationally while also having opportunities to progress through levels, grading days and selected competitions and events.SCGA currently offers classes for all ages and abilities from Kindergarten age right up to adults.

5 years to 7 years
Junior GFA
Junior GFA introduces school-aged children to the foundations of gymnastics in a fun and encouraging environment. Gymnasts develop basic skills across a variety of apparatus while improving strength, flexibility, balance and coordination. Classes focus on building confidence and strong foundations before progressing into SCGA's intermediate programs.

7 years to 10 years
Intermediate GFA
Intermediate GFA gives athletes the opportunity to develop their gymnastics skills in a recreational environment tailored to their age and ability. Gymnasts work on strength, coordination, flexibility and progressively more challenging skills while building confidence and enjoying the social side of gymnastics.
Boys' and girls separate classes are available.

7 years to 12 years
Girls POWER and PLUS GFA
Designed for gymnasts who are ready for additional training and want to progress towards more challenging skills and higher levels.
Longer training sessions provide additional time to develop strength and flexibility, practise routines and prepare for competitions and other selected events. SCGA recommends an assessment before entering this program.

7 years to 12 years
Boys FORCES GFA
Forces is designed for boys looking to take their gymnastics further, with increased training and a greater focus on skill development and progression. Gymnasts work on building power, control and technique while developing more advanced skills, with opportunities to participate in competitions and events. SCGA recommends an assessment before entering this program.

10 years to 15 years
Senior Girls GFA
Senior Girls GFA gives older gymnasts the opportunity to continue developing their skills in a fun, social and challenging environment. Training focuses on progressive gymnastics skills, strength, flexibility and individual goals, allowing each gymnast to enjoy the sport while continuing to challenge themselves through optional competition pathways.

16 years and up
Adult GFA
Adult Gymnastics is for anyone wanting to learn gymnastics, return to the sport or simply enjoy a different way to stay active.
Classes cater for a range of experience levels, allowing participants to work towards their own goals while developing strength, flexibility, coordination and new skills in a welcoming environment.

Weekly Timetable
Unlike Kindergym, SCGA's GFA programs are structured as year-round enrolments rather than school-term-only programs. Classes run from early January until late December, with classes continuing as normal through school holiday periods. Classes pause for designated public holidays and scheduled gym closures.
Active enrolment continues throughout the year, and fees are calculated monthly according to the scheduled training sessions available that month. Families wishing to discontinue an enrolment are required to provide 4 weeks' notice in accordance with SCGA's enrolment and fees policies.

Active enrolments continue throughout the year unless notice is provided in accordance with SCGA's enrolment policy. Class fees are calculated based on scheduled training and charged monthly. Annual registration is charged separately and includes applicable athlete registration and insurance.

WHAT TO WEAR/BRING
FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS
Wear comfortable, fitted activewear that allows you to move freely. Leotards are welcome but aren't required for GFA classes; however, if your child is planning on attending competitions and events, uniforms are required. Avoid clothing with zips, buckles or anything that may catch on equipment.
Gymnastics classes are generally completed barefoot. Shoes should be worn when arriving and leaving the gym for safety.
Bring a labelled water bottle and any personal items required for your class. Longer training sessions may also require a snack or meal.
Long hair should be securely tied back and jewellery removed before entering the gym for everyone's safety
Does my child need gymnastics experience? Not at all! Many of our programs cater for complete beginners, and our coaches will help each gymnast progress at a level appropriate to their ability. Can we try a class before joining? Yes! A trial is a great way to experience SCGA, meet our coaches and make sure you've found the right program. How do I know which class is right for my child? Our team can help. Tell us your child's age, previous experience and interests, and we'll recommend the most suitable program and level. Can my child change classes as they progress? Yes. Our coaches continually monitor each gymnast's development and can recommend progression into another class or program when they're ready. Can parents watch classes? Parent participation and viewing arrangements vary depending on the program and age group. Our team can let you know what applies to your child's class. Do classes run during school holidays? Our recreational, specialty and competitive programs operate throughout most of the year. Check your program's Weekly Timetable section for details. What happens if we miss a class? Missed-class and make-up arrangements are subject to SCGA's current enrolment and attendance policies. Contact our team if you're unsure what applies to your enrolment. How are fees charged? Fees are based on your child's program and training schedule and are billed monthly according to SCGA's current fee and billing structure.
